What Neurofeedback Therapy is:

Neurofeedback is a form of neurotherapy that trains your brainwaves to achieve a healthier state – kind of like exercise, but for your brain! Neurofeedback uses EEG technology to measure your brainwave activity and offer you feedback on your performance in real time, through visual and/or auditory cues from videos or games.

What it’s used for:

Neurofeedback has been used to alleviate symptoms for conditions such as attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), anxiety, addiction, traumatic brain injuries, and more. In addition, it has also been used to improve performance and enhance one’s overall wellbeing.

How it works:

  1. We send you a headset to use at home

  2. You download the Myndlift app to your phone/tablet and complete a baseline assessment using your headset

  3. We meet virtually to go over your brain map and make a plan for brain training

  4. You train 3-4 times per week for 20-30 minutes at a time (most clients benefit from 3-4 months of regular training)

    • Training: You watch videos using your favorite streaming app, listen to music/podcasts, or play games. The app provides positive reinforcement to your brain by making the screen brighter/sound louder when it’s doing what we want it to do (no stimulation involved!)

  5. We meet virtually at least once a month to check in on your progress, symptoms, and adjust brain training protocols as needed

Investment:

Time:

In order to see a reduction in symptoms, you’ll need to commit to training 3-4 times per week for about 20 minutes for at least 3-4 months. Just like working out your body, your brain needs time and consistency to benefit from training. Because we use a remote program and equipment, you can train anytime you want from home!

Financial:

The financial investment is $600 USD per month. This fee covers the equipment, access to the app to train your brain, initial and ongoing assessments, brain map review with your clinician, training protocols, as well as monthly meetings with your clinician to measure progress.

Make your life work for you and not the other way around

FAQS

Common questions about remote neurofeedback

  • Absolutely! Neurofeedback is a safe, evidence-based therapy which has been used for decades and poses little or no side effects. It is a non-invasive neurotherapy. During your training sessions, electrodes will be placed on your head and scalp to measure your brain activity.

  • Neurofeedback training may cause very mild side effects, like slight fatigue. However, these side effects are temporary and will pass quickly. Similar to how your body feels after putting in a hard workout at the gym!

  • You should always consult with your prescriber regarding your medications, as we are not able to provide advice on medication. Although results can vary depending on a number of factors, many clients are able to reduce or taper off of medications after completing neurofeedback therapy.

  • We currently do not accept insurance for any services. However, you can use your HSA/FSA cards for payment.

  • Neurofeedback works by reinforcing the brain when it does what we want it to do more of. So, if you have trauma symptoms, we design training protocols that reinforce your brain when it is regulating your nervous system rather than when it's in fight or flight mode. The brain learns that regulation is "good" which encourages the brain to engage in it more often.

  • Absolutely! Talk therapy and EMDR are fantastic in conjunction with neurofeedback!

  • Yes! Remote neurofeedback therapy is effective, safe, and convenient for kids because you can do it at home according to your schedule, and your child gets to do what they love while they're training: screen time! Protocols and training schedules are designed for children based on their age and developmental needs.
